Regulatory Oversight and Reporting Requirements

NEX Digital Pty Ltd is registered with the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) as a Digital Currency Exchange, provider number DCE100587794-001.

We are also registered with AUSTRAC as an Independent Remittance Dealer (IND100587794-001) which you can check on the AUSTRAC website by searching for NEX Digital Pty Ltd. AUSTRAC is an Australian government financial intelligence agency set up to monitor financial transactions to identify money laundering, organised crime, tax evasion, welfare fraud and terrorism.

This registration is a requirement for platforms that provide fund remittance and cryptocurrency exchange service to users. Users must be fully identified and verified and satisfy Australian AML and CTF regulations. Nauticus has an obligation to continuously monitor users accessing all Nauticus affiliated platforms and services. Nauticus has an obligation to report and suspicious activity. Nauticus is unable to provide services or deal with individuals or entities which do not meet our regulatory requirements, political exposed persons, those affected by sanctions, those who fail internal risk assessments and compliance requirements.

NEX Financial Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of NEX Markets PTY LTD and part of the Nauticus group of companies ("Nauticus"). NEX Financial Pty Ltd has been appointed as an authorised representative of an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licensee, Fund Investment Projects Pty Ltd, Authorised Representative number 001268281. Fund Investment Projects Pty Ltd holds AFS licence number 487263.

The AFS licence is regulated by ASIC - the Australian government's regulatory body for financial services and markets.

The AFS licence authorisation issued to NEX Financial Pty Ltd, authorises NEX Financial Pty Ltd to provide the following financial services within Australia on certain financial products:

  • Deal in certain financial products
  • Acquire, vary or dispose of certain financial products on behalf of ourselves or others
  • Provide custodial or depository services on an incidental basis
  • Provide general financial product advice to wholesale clients on certain financial products
